New Model RB18/RB618 Dual PTT license-free Radio is coming.

Retevis released a new model, RB18 or RB618, it is the license-free radio. Check the picture first:

From the apperance, it will be different from the classic two-way radios. It has the a small display, with the up and down button on the left of the screen. With the big PTT button in the front, and also have another PTT at the left side. It is the dual PTT radio.

Also this radio has the Lamp light function, short press the button: Lamp Button, the light will turn on. The display will show you the CTCSS/DCS code, the channel number, the battery, the VOX on/off, the Tx/RX and so on.

    Hello, radio RB-18 programming software does not allow frequencies to be changed, unlike other Retevis HT I have.
    I am using RB18 programming software from your site.
    Manual says # “3. Select the certain channel you want to modify and click Edit-Channel, Edit/Batch, Channel Edit.
    Click Function Setting enable to modify general setting of the radio.”
    Where is Edit-Channel? Only tones and width can be changed, as they are highlighted IN WHITE…

    Please help, I would like to program in Amateur Radio frequencies. This is easily done with many of your radios.

      Hello! RB18 is a license-free radio, according to the rules license-free radio’s frequency can not be changed!and could you please tell me your purpose of changing the frequency?

    Hi Dennis Manchester I got the same rb618 radio I got the program to write to the radio to change ccts codes all set up won’t let me download to change ccts codes all it says handshake failure.as any one else had the same problem can you let me know dennis

    RE:RETEVIS RB618

    Hi I am having the above problems, when trying to read I get hand shake… then Failure! , I am using the RETEVIS RB618 software which launches fine, and lets me check COM3 which is driven by a Prolific Driver. This driver also works fine with my Wouxun KG-UVD1P. Also Scan does not work as per the instructions, looks like this needs to be activated by the software along with VOX. Also would like to program the NOAA Stations as well. Are there specific settings to be done on the COM Driver , like Baud Rate, Parity etc, or a specific driver needed. Your website only supplies the Software. Most of the advance facilities are not working as I cant program the device. I can see all the options that can be performed in the software. Is the type of cable important. I am using my Wouxun 2 Pin Cable. I have ordered below, if this does not work then its going to have to go back. I am using Windows 10 Pro, could this setup need Windows 7.

    Despite the successful writing …. the data is empty.
    I use the 618 software, he managed to read but the writing however succeeded is not good !!
    Fortunately I had saved the read data.
    Which solution ?

    Hello! I just bought 4 RB18. Downloaded related programming software. And I can’t reprogram RB18 – the data from the radio is read perfectly, but after sucessfull trying to record – the radio beeps continuously, the channels do not switch, it does not work for transmission and reception, and an attempt to read data from it gives an empty channel table. Tried 2 radio out of 4 – after “write to radio” the radio was totally dead.
    Beeps continuously is off after set in programming software “Beep – OFF”. But other symptoms remain – the radio is not working.

    Resolved! The programmers are great – successful write settings in the radio occurs only if the OS set to US region and US format.

      Because the RB18 is the license-free radio, with the fixed frequencies, so don’t support to edit frequency.

    I wanted to write data to the radio (RB618), but after the transfer (successfully), the radio does not communicate anymore. Only channel 1 appears with a continuous tone.

    Hi i have rb618 i try to disble the beep but i dont know why now i cant use the walkie i only can select the chanel number one but i cant use it

    This works. Am from The Netherlands and wanted to change 1 RB618 to do VOX.
    Download worked great, but Upload left me with nothing. (Only channel 1 and a constant beep)
    Changed the region and format to US on my Win7 PC and the upload went well and the RB618 is working again.

      Ik zit met het zelfde probleem. Ik ben niet zo’n computer held maar zou je me hier doorheen kunnen helpen?
