RA89 is a new ham radio launched by Retevis. Now, we have upgraded the firmware of RA89.
What are the changes after the upgrade?
1. Fix the inconsistency between the channel storage and the user manual.
2. Add Mic Gain menu to the radio and software.
3. The frequency writing software adds side button short press and long press functions.
4. Solve the problem of brightness changes of level 1 and level 2 backlights.
5. The menu display font is bold for improved visibility.
6. Optimization: Radio supports automatic scanning. Long press “#radio” to turn on the FM radio function, short press “#radio” to switch to radio channel mode or VFO mode.
You can enable automatic scanning in FM radio VFO mode by defining the side button as the scan function or via the first scan function of the menu button.
Firmware update steps:
1. Power off the radio, then press and hold the PTT button while turning the radio turn on. The LED will display “Update,” to enter the upgrade mode.
2. Open the update software and select the correct COM port (①), set the baud rate to 57600 (②)
3. Click “Open” to load the firmware file (③)
4. Click “Update”(④)
5. After the upgrade is successful, the radio will automatically turn on.
