RT97S Full Duplex GMRS Repeater is an upgraded version of RT97 GMRS repeater, which is special for building Raspberry Pi two way radio systems. Here is a guide to program it by software.
Step 1 Get All things Prepared
At first, we need to download and install programming software and driver. The programming software of RT97S is the same as RT97’s (GMRS version) and free to download. Here is the Downolad Link. We also need to prepare a programming cable for connecting the RT97S to the PC.
Step 2 Connect RT97S to Software
After all things are prepared, we need to open the Windows Device Manager to find the COM port, then open the software to choose the same COM port.
Step 3 Read Datas from RT97S
Above all, we need to read datas from RT97S to upload its information. Please confirm the reading process is finished successfully.
Step 4 Program Settings
After reading the datas, you can change frequencies, CTCSS/DCS, the level of power and bandwidth. Besides the above channel information, you can also set some features in the software: Time of Relay Delay, Transit Function ON/OFF, Squelch Level (0-9), Key Lock ON/OFF, Tail Tone Eliminate ON/OFF.
Step 5 Write Datas to RT97S
Don’t forget to save after setting, and the last step is to write datas to RT97S. Please confirm the writing process is finished successfully.
