How to Make H777 Radio Talk with Retevis RT5?

How to use two way radio is difficult for some rookies, Upon receiving of your H777 radio, You may have a few questions about it. Such as:If i can use the radio directly? shall i program it before operation? Whether new H777 can talk with my old H777? Also how to set H777 talk with RT5? Here is the answer.

• All H777 new radio without programming are same default setting, you can switch to same channel and talk directly
• If your old H777 is programmed already, then when you want to talk to new H777 or other analog radio, you need to program them in programming software.

Let’s take H777 and RT5 communication as an example, to discuss how to set H777 to communicate with RT5, step by step:

Step 1

Make sure the radio power is sufficient before programming it.

Step 2

Prepare a programming cable

Different two way radios work with different programming cables.

RT5, H777 use same programming cable, SKU is C9018A,

Step 3

Download the driver and software from retevis official website:

https://www.retevis.com/index.php/programming_software

H777 radio:

Click 【USB Universal Driver】directly download it.

Click 【H777】directly download it.

Step 4 

Unzip the driver & software, Install driver & software.

Note:All retevis software only running on Windows system. Win 7/8/10/XP, It doesn’t work on MacOS system, Linux system.

such as driver for win 10 64 bit

Step 5

Connect H777 to PC with programming cable, make sure all connection in good condition. Keep H777 power on when operating it.

Step 6

Program the frequency

A, Enter the H777 software, choose the correct communication port.

B, Read from Radio. 

You will get the default frequency of H777 radio.

C, Write the frequency into software.

    H777 talk with RT5, the easiest way is to set:

    H777 RX frequency= H777 TX frequency= RT5 RX frency=RT5 TX frequency

H777 CTCSS/DCS DEC = H777 CTCSS/DCS ENC = RT5 CTCSS/DCS DEC = RT5 CTCSS/DCS ENC

    For example:write H777 frequency as below:

RX Freq(MHz)  446.125

TX Freq(MHz)  446.125

CTCSS/DCS DEC   69.3

CTCSS/DCS ENC   69.3

Then In RT5 software, same steps as above, then write the exactly same data as H777

       
D, Write  to radio

Last step, remove H777/ RT5 from the PC, turn off it, then turn on it again, Now H777 and RT5 have save the same data. they can communicate directly. If you set H777 data in channel 1, and set RT5 data in channel 5 in the programming software, it is no problem. just make sure they communicate in the same frequency and CTCSS, that’s the point.
