How to programme retevis RA85
Retevis RA85 is a Long Range GMRS Handheld Radio, with Dual Display and Dual Standby.
Recently, we received an email from customer asking for help: “I cannot find instruction on how to program the radios(is there a program needed). I have searched your site and cannot locate the program cable for the RA85 radio. Which is the correct cable?” Do you also have the same question? If yes, this article will help you.
The easiest way is to press the V/M button to enter the frequency mode. And then edit the frequency and CTCSSS/DCS you want through the keyboard.
Another method is to program RA85 through the software, and then write to the walkie-talkie, the steps are as follows:
1/Programming cable:
You need a programming cable to connect the walkie-talkie to the computer, and then set it in the programming software.

2/Software:
Please open the website, choose the Country first, search the radio model, and then click the support, you will find the corresponding software:
3/How to programme retevis RA85:
1.Install the USB Driver and RA85 programming software on your computer.
2.Please connect the walkie-talkie to the computer via the programming cable.
3.Open the software–choose COM port–click read from radio–change the seting you want–then write to the radio.
4/If your walkie-talkie prompts to check the connection or cannot read and write frequency, please do the following checks first: :
1. When reading and writing frequency, whether the walkie-talkie is correctly connected to the USB and is in the power-on state;
2. What is the system of the computer? Currently, the software on the website only supports windows system;
3. Check whether the driver is installed correctly, open the device manager, and see if the port is displayed normally

4. When reading and writing frequency, whether to select the corresponding correct port and correct frequency writing software;
5. Check the write frequency line and the intercom and computer ports, re-plug and try again, or replace other USB ports;
6. Some computer version C disk does not support downloading software, you need to manually add a folder on the desktop, and then download the software to this folder;
7. Try another computer;
8. If it still doesn’t work, try another programming cable;
