Operation of RA79 special functions
Retevis RA79 is our new Ham walkie-talkie, supports multi-band receiving, making communication easier. The RA79 is very affordable and many customers have bought and already received it. This blog mainly introduces the operation of some special functions of RA79. Let’s take a look.

1/ Wireless replication function

(Currently only the same model copy is supported)
1. Press  PTT+ side key 2 to turn the radio, enter the wireless COPY interface. The screen will display AIR COPY(RDY), this time the transmitter and receiver frequency and subtone must be consistent;

2. The receiver presses EXIT to enter the receiving mode, and the display changes to AIR COPY. The transmitter presses the MENU key to transmit write frequency data, and the display changes to AIR COPY.

3. During the copying process, the display will show the copying progress. RCV:XX E:XX,E:XX indicates the number of data replication errors. The transmitter displays SND:120.

4. If the replication is successful, turn off the radio and turn it on again.

2/Scan function

A. Method

1.Press and hold the * key to start scanning or exit scanning.
2.Use the side keys to set the scanning switch to turn scanning on or off.

A.Frequency scanning: During the scanning process, you can press the up and down keys to change the scanning direction, press PTT, EXIT or long press the * key to exit scanning.

B.Channel scanning: After channel scanning is turned on, the walkie-talkie will detect the channels in the scanning list in sequence. When receiving a call during the scanning process, you can press PTT to reply.

Steps:

MENU→31→S-LIST LIST1 or LIST2, specify the channel scanning list.
MENU→32→SLIST1, view the channels participating in scanning in scan list 1.
MENU→33→SLIST2, view the channels participating in scanning in scan list 2.
MENU→25→S-ADD1, add the current channel to scan list 1.
MENU→26→S-ADD2, add the current channel to scan list 2.
MENU→22→SC-REV, Select scan mode. Search recovery mode (TO: continue searching after staying for 5 seconds; CO: continue searching after waiting for the signal to disappear; SE: terminate search)

C. Priority scanning: You can specify the channel as the priority scanning channel. If you set priority to scan channel 3 and turn on channel scanning, the scanning process is, channel 3, channel 1, 2, 4, and so on, with channel 3 being scanned first; (priority scanning can only be set through software).

3/FM radio function

F+0: Enter the radio mode, the up or down key can change the frequency or pre-stored radio, and you can also enter the radio frequency or pre-stored radio through the keyboard.
F+1: Switch between the VFO and MR Modes.
F+2: Start the automatic search process, which automatically stores searched stations up to 20 stations.
F+3: Starts the manual channel search process. If the station is detected during this process, the user needs to  save the channel manually.
MENU key store channel; EXIT key exits the search station; Key up or down to switch scanning direction;

In the radio state, if the radio channel receives a valid call or press PTT to initiate a call, it will temporarily exit the radio mode and enter the intercom state, and listen to the FM station again after the intercom is over.
Press EXIT or F+O will exit the radio mode.

4/How to Extend RA79 factory frequency

Please press “PTT+SK1” to turn on the radio, select “F-LOCK” and then click the “M “key to confirm, then press the up and down keys to select “off “, which is spread spectrum.

  1. Yeah having trouble programing it . It won’t go to right frequency example 145.110 it goes to 145.105 and also frequency offset is wrong to . So idk man please help
