Retevis RT97 portable radio repeater can extend the radio communication range, provide longer talking distance and clearer voice quality. In addition to RT97, there are repeater RT97S and repeater RT97P. If you don’t know how to choose a suitable repeater among them, read on to know their difference.
The following are the three obvious differences between Repeater RT97, RT97S and RT97P.
1.Version is Different
RT97 repeater has four versions on the website for option:
①UHF fixed frequency version:(UHF/ TX frequency:463.3125MHz，RX frequency:453:3125MHz,offset:10MHz)
②VHF fixed frequency version:(VHF/ TX frequency:162.6125MHz，RX frequency:152.6125MHz,offset:10MHz)
③GMRS frequency version:(GMRS/ TX：462.5500/RX：467.5500 MHz,8 Channel)
④Customizable frequency version: [TX frequency and RX frequency can be customized between UHF (400-470MHZ) or VHF(136-174MHZ). Offset: >5MHz.]
RT97P is DMR repeater, which has three versions.
①UHF fixed frequency version:(UHF/ TX frequency:463.3125MHz，RX frequency:453:3125MHz,offset:10MHz)
②VHF fixed frequency version:(VHF/ TX frequency:162.6125MHz，RX frequency:152.6125MHz,offset:10MHz)
③Customizable frequency version: [TX frequency and RX frequency can be customized between UHF (400-470MHZ) or VHF(136-174MHZ). Offset: >5MHz.]
RT97S is a GMRS portable repeater, which has 8 GMRS Repeater Channels. 462.550 – 462.725 MHz (TX), 467.550 – 467.725 MHz (RX) ,
2.Power is Different
RT97 and RT97P is 10W, while RT97S is 5W.
3.Design is Different
RT97S has a built-in sound card to connect to Raspberry Pi, but RT97 and RT97 don‘t.
Tips
1. All RT97 versions can powered by solar battery. What solar battery to choose will depend on your climate and how much use it will see. During the summer when we have lots of sun a 9 amp hour battery and 30 watt panel do just fine.
2. The antenna interface of RT97, RT97S and RT97P is SL16-J/M, and the antenna compatible with them is MR004; The extend antenna cable compatible with RT97, RT97S and RT97P is C9123A
3.If you need customize the repeater, please note the following information when placing the order: RX frequency, TX frequency, Offset (Offset ≥5MHz and ≤12MHz) and Charger type.
