RT43 is the same as other DMR radio, which has two encryption methods: normal and enhanced encryption, let us learn about how to set RT43 encryption function
How to set RT43 encryption function
RT43 normal encryption function
Key value: 3 ways
1.Pure numbers: 0123456789
2.Pure letters (only small letter): abcdef
3.Numbers+letters: 12ab
Pls note it only can be written 4 bits under normal encryption model
RT43 enhanced encryption function
1.Pure numbers: 0123456789
2.Pure letters (only small letter): abcdef
3. Numbers+letters: 12ab
Pls note it can be written 32 bits under enhanced encryption model
How to operate RT43 encryption function
Taking two RT43 radios: Radio A and Radio B
Radio A, set key value in key No.2: abcd
Radio B, set key value in key No.2: abcd
Under other the same sets( frequency, color code, slot..) When you press PTT on radio A, the radio B will talk with radio A
If the key value is different what situation will happen, you can test it
Radio A, set key value in key No.2: abcd
Radio B, set key value in key No.2: 1234
At this time, you will find that radio A can’t talk with radio B, so the key value has to keep same between radio A and radio B
Pls note Only the same brand same model, the encryption way is the same. If you ask the encryption way of Motorola radios are compatible with Retevis radios, the answer must be ‘NO’
