How to upgrade the RT3S firmware to increase the number of contacts to 12000
As one of the most popular digital walkie-talkies among consumers, many customers are no stranger to RT3S, but there are still many new customers who do not know much about it. So, here is a brief introduction:
RT3S is Dual Band DMR Radio, supports digital mode and analog mode, has GPS and non-GPS version, Up to 3000 channels, for extremely complex organizational communications,
And GPS gives you a clear idea of your location even in the wild. Use it to find your way or to help others find you.
With the use of customers, 100,000 contacts have been unable to meet the demand. How to upgrade the RT3S firmware –Increase the number of contacts to 12000. The steps are shown below：
1/Installation of the USB driver, programming software and firmware，
2/Simultaneously press side key 1 and PTT key to turn on the radio, the indicator blinks and open upgraded software
3/ Open “Open file upgrade”, select the firmware file, and then click on “Download file of upgrade”
RT3S(CSV-GPS)-P18.16.bin —This is the file selected for upgrading 120,000 contacts for RT3S with GPS
RT3S(CSV)-V18.11.bin —This is the file selected for upgrading 120,000 contacts on RT3S without GPS.
After upgrading the firmware, turn off the radio, and the upgrade is complete.
4/ Open the RT3S programming software, click on Program , then select Write Contacts,
Click on Import , select RT3S Public Form (downloadable from aliunce.com), then click on Write to import the contacts.
