  1. Why same RT22 walkie-talkies which are bought at different times can’t work together?

A: First of all, the frequency of RT22 has been changed twice in order to meet the requirements of the US license-free walkie-talkie.it was changed from the original 400-480 to 462-467 MHz.

Therefore, the new frequency that causes the customer not to be called  which purchases twice and more.they need to program them to the same frequency and CTCSS to work together.

If the customer does not want to program,it will be told that the modified first channel and the third channel before the change can be directly intercommunication; Secondly, the  frequency and CTCSS should be consistent.

  1. Can RT22 work together with RT27, RT21 or other brands of walkie-talkies?

A: The premise of analog radios intercommunication is the same frequency and CTCSS on the same channel . Therefore, it is necessary to determine whether the two types of radios have coincident frequency bands.If it matches,you can suggest the customer to program them to the frequency and CTCSS on the unified channel. If not, you can’t talk together. However, the first 5 channels of RT22 and RT27, RT21, RT24 and RT7 after the modification are directly interoperable, but can work directly with H-777 on channel 6 and channel 7

3.About the RT22 call privacy issues

A: If the customer asks if the channel you want to talk on is not disturbed, you can advise the customer to set the CTCSS and CDCSS codes (sub-audio) in the channel.

4.How to turn on emergency alarm function and hands-free function of RT22?

A: The hands-free function prompts need to be turned on in the software by programming; the emergency alarm function and scanning can be turned on in the custom option of the side button 2

    How does RT22 lock the channel?

a.Select the channel you want to say.

  1. Press and hold the + – button at the same time, it will beep.
  2. The channel is locked and you won’t change it.
  3. Press and hold the + – button again, there will be two beeps and the channel will be unlocked

6.How to identify the channel without a screen

A: RT22 has a Chinese and English bilingual operation tone. The channel can be clearly reported. Chinese and English can be switched by software.

    1. hi, RT21 can work with RT22, if you two radios can’t work with each other, please read from your radio to get your radios setting, to check where is the difference?

    Is there a fix for the call button? 4 out of the 10 I purchased are starting to be extremely finicky on how you have to press the button to transmit.

  3. Using H-777 and RT-22 on channel 7 no problems. Received 20 RT-22S models and no communication with H-777or RT-22. Transmit with 22S will light the other radios receiving light but no audio. Transmit with 777 or 22 no light or audio on 22S. I have programming cable from 777 and have downloaded the software for all 3 models. Will try that at first opportunity. Hoping someone knows the simple fix to make it quicker and smoother making my superiors happy.

    1. have you checked the three models settings?
      you need to make sure they are the 100% same, with the same channel, each channel with the same frequencies and ctcss/dcs code.
      then they can talk to each other.

    Bought two sets of Retvis RT22S radios. They do not work with all 4. The sets both work by themselves. One set has 22 channels the other set has 16???? Any help would be appreciated.

    2. I just bought a set of the RT22S model – which are programmed to FRS frequencies and apparently cannot be re-programmed by the end user. I really like the visual channel indicator and 22 channel slots as opposed to the standard 16 channel variant (RT22). It sound slike you received one set of each. The only channel data I can figure out how to change on the RT22S version (using the software from Retevis and a proper cable) is the CTCSS / DCS tone setting. My set came factory programmed with a different privacy tone set on each channel, so right out of the box the pair would likely not work with another brand of FRS radio unless all radios had the pl tones set the same on each channel.

    I have the RT22 1.05 software. I’m attempting to change a few of the settings in the radio, but every time I attempt to read or write from/to the radio I get, “Password is error!” How can I either change the password or do a factory reset?

  8. I ordered 12 of the RT22 radios and they are very full of static when we speak into them and sometimes very hard to hear. Is there a solution for this? We are retail and need to hear clearly. I don’t want to return them!
