Do you have problem when your RT84 programming?

If you find your RT84 can’t program, please don’t worry, today we will give you a method to solve the problem when you program your radio.
Please read this blog, and just follow the instructions as below.

4.Open your computer, find control panel- device manager- other equipment.
If you see there is a Yellow exclamation point, it means the driver was not installed successfully.

If you still program your radio, it will remind Erro:Please check whether the USB is occupied or not connected.

5.In this time, you need to click the Yellow exclamation point, right-click on the option by mouse, then choose Update driver.

6.After the update driver dialog box pops up,click and browse to select USB Drive folder, then Click next, it will automatically install drivers update.

7.If you update drive successful, It will have a hint to show you have update the driver successful as the picture as below.

8.Then you can come back to device manager, check the application of USB, you can see the following:

9.If you can see the “TM Device in DFU Mode”like the picture above, it means driver installed successfully, and it is connected properly.
10.Then you can read from radio and write to radio.

  1. Pero este firware no trae la opción de grabar como sale en la descripción que he leído

    1. Hi,Armando, The upgraded RT84 firmware is Version V1.03, Support to upload 12,0000 DMR contacts, it have no
      record function.

  2. thank you very much and update to that version, it would be good to see how it is done to adjust the volume in a better way, in spite of lowering it is high for the patients where I work.

  3. Hi there,
    I bought 2 RT-84’s though banggood.com.
The first one worked for a while, I was able to update the firmware, program the radio etc, now it keeps saying “Device Descriptor Request Failed” when I plug in the usb cable
The 2nd radio did that right from the start, it failed to connect every time, I am unable to program it, then it froze up, would not even switch off, I had to remove the battery to restart it, then it comes up with enter password, I figured out 00000000 unlocked it, but I still cannot program it. Is there a hard reset button combination or something where I can reset it, or is there a way to program in my Radio ID from the keypad?

    1. Hi, dear, sorry for the delay! For now, our software can be only used on windows system, I will tell our technical department about it and we will make some changes in the future! Thank you very much for your suggestion and support! Stay safe and have a nice day!

Is there a way to program from the keyboard without going through all this? I have no yellow exclamation point, but I am getting the error message about USB. I only want one UHF simplex frequency in this radio. It appears you cannot program directly from the keyboard unless one checkbox is ticked. I have been trying for the better part of three days to install the RT84 programming software. I finally got it installed, but I am not permitted to read from or write to the radio. Is there some way to just enter a frequency directly?

    Thanks.

  5. Just purchased a RT-84 and having issues with CPS version 1.05 crashing when reading or writing to the radio. I have to try several times, but it works 30% of the time then crashes.
TX contact number that I select deletes itself when programming a digital channel even though I save the codeplug, when I return to the particular digital channel, the TX contact is blank
Also, big problem with Contacts, unable to import CSV files to CPS, only shows ID, no other data is imported. There was a post about programming 122,000 contacts, but I’m only able to import 10,000

    Radio Firmware D002.003
    CPS V01.05

    1. In response to my last post, I found that all of my CPS related problems were fixed on my Windows XP laptop. My only issue remaining is the ability to import more than 10,000 contacts
      Radio Firmware D002.003
      CPS V01.05

      1. hi, if you want to import more contacts, you need to click contact, write contact, then upload the .csv file contact list into it, then click import.
wait for it, when it shows success, the contacts import already.

    1. Hi, if possible, could you please check the usb dirver and programming cable you used? Make sure you install the USB driver and use the right cable!
If still with problem, would you please offer your order ID and which paltform you order?
Our corresponding sales will contact with you by email
