What Does the DCDM Feature Do?
Retevis has many radios has DCDM feature, like Ailunce HD1, Retevis RT3S, RT82, RT83, and so on.
DCDM is Dual Capacity Direct Mode. It is a feature which allows two slot operation on simplex.
Not only does it offer two slot operation but is also currently the only product which complies with ETSI TS102-361 §1-4 v2.1.1 for 6.25e operation on simplex.
How to Turn on the DCDM Feature?
HD1 can open this function by programming on the computer or modifying manually on the front panel.
RT82 can only be programmed by computer to open this function. The specific steps are as follows.
1. HD1 DMR Mode is set to Simplex, RT82 DMR Mode is set to Simplex, and set the same color code, contacts, frequency.
Set HD1 time slot: 1
(1) Set RT82 time slot: 1, the two radio can be connected;
(2) Set RT82 time slot: 2, the two radio can be connected;
Set HD1 time slot: 2
(3) Set RT82 time slot: 1, the two radio can be connected;
(4) Set RT82 time slot: 2, the two radio can be connected;
2. HD1 DMR Mode is set to Double slot, RT82 DMR Mode is set to Simplex, and set the same color code, contacts, frequency.
Set HD1 time slot: 1
(1) Set RT82 time slot: 1, the two radio cannot be connected;
(2) Set RT82 time slot: 2, the two radio cannot be connected;
Set HD1 time slot: 2
(3) Set RT82 time slot: 1, the two radio cannot be connected;
(4) Set RT82 time slot: 2, the two radio cannot be connected;
3. HD1 DMR Mode is set to Double slot, RT82 DMR Mode is set to DCDM, and set the same color code, contacts, frequency.
Set HD1 time slot: 1
(1) Set RT82 time slot: 1, the two radio can be connected;
(2) Set RT82 time slot: 2, the two radio cannot be connected;
Set HD1 time slot: 2
(3) Set RT82 time slot: 1, the two radio cannot be connected;
(4) Set RT82 time slot: 2, the two radio can be connected;
Conclusion
When you choose Double slot or DCDM mode, it makes time slot work in Simplex mode, it supports two conversations on the same channel in Simplex mode.
The time slot does not work in Simplex mode, turn on the DCDM function,time slot work.
