When do you need to write frequency?
Unless you need to use a specific frequency or set a function, you have to program frequency.Since H-777 has CTCSS/DCS and also have the squelch function,It is easy to set up ,you can program the function by a programming cable. CTCSS function adds a layer of privacy to your channels,it’s safer for business information security and privacy and widely used all walks of life, warehouses, hotels, restaurants etc
How to program Retevis H-777?
Two ways to help you program your radio.
Download the software and USB Universal Driver from Retevis website.
The steps as follow:
A.You could download the software from our website:

B.Please use the “ USB Universal Driver”.

Here is the instructions of how to reprogram the radios for your reference:
1.Please kindly install the programming software and USB driver to your
computer. (The files are not compatible with MAC )
2.Open the software, and use the programming cable to connect a radio with computer, the radio need keep power on, also you need to choose the correct port. If you do not know your port, go to your “Device manager” and found your USB port.Or you can try one by one.
3.Then click the Program and choose Read from Radio, all the settings will be
shown on the screen, then you will be able to reset it as you like.
4.Click the Program, and choose Write Data to Radio will be OK
5.Remove the radio and connect other one, keep the radio power on
6.Click the Program, and choose Write Data to Radio will be reprogrammed to the same settings with the first radio.

Program the radio on Chirp,and choose software according to your PC system
The steps as follow:
A.You could download the software from Chirp website:

1.When you install well,and connect your radio with your PC, and click “ ChirpW”
2.Click radio–download from radio–choose “baofeng” BF-888, then choose your correct COM port.
3.Then you will set up your radios.

My Retrevis H-777 does not communicate with Motorola walkie even if we are on the same channel. How do I fix this?
You need to make sure the channel frequency and CTCSS/DCS code same. not the channel number
