- Both pair RT628 radios have the same channel, why couldn’t they talk with each other?
- First, Press “MENU” till LCD screen shows numbers sparkling on the right top side, then selected the same number, finally, pressed PTT button. (Numbers stands for CTCSS/DCS value)
- How many channels does RT628 radio?
- EU frequency—8 channels;US frequency—22 channels
- Does it have CE and FCC certificates?
- YES.
- Is the Manual Chinese or English?
- English
- How long communicataion range is it?
- it’s 3 miles in open areas, but it’s 400-1000metres within buldings and blocks city.
- Does it include earpiece/earhook?
- No, you have to buy it seperately.
- Does it have the VOX function?
- Yes
- Does it have programming software? Could it be written frequency as i like?
- No software offered, it couldn’t be written frequency as you like.
- Why the frequency of LCD screen is jumping?
- Pls press POWER button for few seconds to turn off SCAN function. (Note: Press POWER button for few seconds could turn on or off SCAN function)
- Does it have a call alert button? ie,press a button to alert someone. ?
- YES, Press MON button for few seconds to turn on, The radios with the same frequency will be informed.
- What’s differences between RT628 with EU frequency and RT628 with US frequency?
- Only difference is with different frequency and different channels.RT628 with US frequency ,22CH, But RT628 with EU frequency,8CH. They are both local legal citizen band frequency range. US frequency radios could be used in EU countries, and EU frequency radios could be used in US countries.

Where is the factory reset button on the RT628?

Can I (hardware or software) modify 22ch US version to a 8ch EU version?
No . The frequencies are settled and can’t be changed .
This can’t be true. One of my radios just stopped working and my frequency analyzer says it is now broadcasting in the EU range. They are both the United States version and the other radio still transmits on the frs frequency.
can i dissable the call tone on my Rt628? the instructions say setting the call tone to zero. The lowest setting number is 1.
yes,you can close the call tone: press the menu three times,use the Up and Down button to choose the call tone, from 0 to 10
For some reason I can not turn off VOX on one of them. I tried reset and went through the manual. Pressing PTT does not turn it off. Any suggestions? Maybe it is defected.

vox ON: press the PTT, at the same time turn on your radio, then VOx on
VOX OFF: press PTT, the vox off
If your radio with no response, please contact with your seller to get the after-service.
Having the same problem. Can’t turn vox off using the instructions in the manual.
For RT628 model
Turn on VOX: turn off radio, press the PTT, then press the power on button to turn on, the vox active.
Turn off VOX: only press PTT, then off.
I also cannot turn off the vox. The instructions in the manual and a vague reply here is not cutting it. looks like I’m going to need to return these
hi, if your RT628 want to turn on/off the vox, please check the steps:
1, Press PTT and power on button at the same time, to turn on your RT628
2, The display will show a man’s mouth, it means the VOX on
3, you can talk to others without Pressing the Ptt
4, If you want to turn off the VOX, just press the PTT, it will off.

I’m having the same issues with the VOX feature. Following your instructions is not turning VOX off! Please give another explanation.

the right way to reset your Model RT628 is press the menu button, at the same time to press power button to turn on your radio
then your radio will reset!
If possible, would you please try again? And may I know what’s the matter about your radios?

I do have the same problem with the VOX as the others. VOX will not turn of at all!
Can I switch the RT628 from EU to US Version? Unfortunately I got the EU Version, therefore it’s not compatible with the others RT628 I already have. Please send me some advice.

My rt628’s are not connecting. They are in the same channel and interference eliminator code. How do I fix it?
I am having the same issue. Both units are on the same channel and on the same interference eliminator code. Still can’t communicate between the units. My kids are very disappointed and so am I. Retevis, please respond!

Vox sont turn off. I followed your instruction and the one in the manual, nothing is working.
I figured out how to turn off VOX on the RT628.
If VOX is on:
1) make sure the keypad is unlocked (if it’s locked, press and hold menu for 3 seconds)
1) press Menu 4 times, or until you see the VOX icon facing a number
2) press the down button until the number changes to Off
3) press PTT to confirm the change of setting
VOX will be off!!!
