It’s really headache if our radios can not communicate normally, but with some tips,we can get where the problem is and programme them to communicate again.

Tips as below:

If two new radios can not communicate:

1.For analog radio, they should have at same frequency band, same CTCSS mode, then after setting they can communicate
2.For digital radio, they should have same system, such as DMR can talk with DMR, DPMR can talk with DPMR.

Sometimes, your two radios can not communicate with each other, after a period of normal use, What’s the possible reason for it and how to do?

1.check the indicator light: normally transmitting should have red light, receiving should have green light on the radios.

If two radios have normally transmit and receiving light, but they can not hear each other at all, or can only hear muffled signal

1.Check if their communication is out of radio’s max communication range

2.Check if both radio volume knob are turn to a larger volume

3.Check if the antenna is connected on a good status

4.Check if the battery power for both radios is low, lower battery power will also effect communication quality. Then charge it.

5.Check if they have same frequency, but the CTCSS/DCS is not same

• If you are writing the frequency by hand on LCD display, then check in radio menu, double confirm the communication channel have same frequency and CTCSS/DCS setting
  The easiest and best way:
  A transmitting frequency=A receiving frequency=B transmitting frequency=B receiving frequency                                                                                                      A transmitting CTCSS/DCS=A receiving CTCSS/DCS=B transmitting CTCSS/DCS=B receiving CTCSS/DCS
• If you are writing the frequency in programming software, please connnect your radio to your PC, using programming cable                                                           Make sure their frequency and CTCSS is same also.

6. Reset the communication radios

A.For Retevis adult radios, we all have “factory reset file”, when your retevis radio have some communication issue, we can send you reset file for initializing.

B.For Retevis children’s radio, please press “menu” key, at the same time, turn on the radio, then it’ll be initialized. Two radios can communicate.
